C&E Wurzer Builders is a licensed and insured contractor. We use only our employees and the same team of licensed subcontractors to build your home. C&E Wurzer Builders holds a Green Business designation from the Eau Claire Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association.

Our History

Homebuilding in the Wurzer family is something that originated nearly 50 years ago. Craig Wurzer's grandfather, Ernest set out determined to learn the trade and that's exactly what he did.

And when Craig came along, his true passion for the business became apparent when he was just 2 years old. He always wanted to play with hammers and to be on the jobsite. His passion for building stayed with him throughout the years. He would always pretend he was drawing floor plans, sometimes even pretending he was a grown-up contractor, building homes in his bedroom! All imaginary, but he never gave up on his dream.

When Craig decided to go on his own, his first thought was to name his business C&E (Craig and Ernie) Wurzer Builders - primarily for sentimental reasons. After all he wouldn't have had any desire or any passion for the business if it wasn't for his Grandpa!

Since the days when Ernie started, the industry has come a long way, with new tools for basically every aspect of the building process. Things change so much over time, but one value that has been handed down through the years is "An honest job, well done."
