Our Process From Start To Finish
Initial Meeting:
At C&E Wurzer Builders we like to meet with clients in a face to face, open dialogue meeting to discuss their home building experience. During this meeting you may ask any questions you have about building a new home or starting a renovation. This meeting will help you better understand budget, price points, product selections and other building applications which will help us arrive at a preliminary estimated square foot price. We may also determine that a site visit may be in order to better understand the homesite and how it fits with the type of home you are looking to build.
Design Schedule:
With the information we discussed at our initial meeting, (desired square footage, proposed floor plan type, etc., ) we coordinate and set up an in-person or Zoom meeting with the designer/draftsperson to begin work on determining the floor plan and design elements that truly make your new construction home the custom home you desire.
The best way to communicate your vision to us is through photographs. Maybe you have seen a Parade Home or Model that has stuck in your mind, a floor plan that suits you perfectly, or you have come across Pinterest boards or Houzz posts that truly resonate with you. We find that real life examples and photos are the best starting points. If you know what you want your exterior to emulate, email us a picture of it. We would give the same advice to any roof or desired design feature in your future home. There is no such thing as too much information! Our Architectural Designer/draftsperson will incorporate your shared information into initial design concepts.
We review initial concepts approximately two weeks after our first design meeting. This meeting is exciting because it’s the first time that you get to see your vision on paper!. On average, we see between four to five revisions to the initial concepts before plans are ready for the bid stage. We continue to work off a square foot price for budgeting purposes. We strive to have all details included in the prints for the subcontractor bidding.
Bid & Budget:
At C&E Wurzer Builders we have built our reputation on our detailed specifications and budget. With our extensive knowledge of construction costs, we have a real good idea early on if we need to make floor plan/design changes to keep your project in line with your budget. C&E Wurzer Builders puts in the time and emphasis on the front end of the process to ensure your budget and design stay within your desired price range.
Proposal Presentation:
At this point in the process, you will have strong idea of what to expect for price on your total new construction home package . This meeting is to discuss in detail and writing what is included. When we meet your expectations and agree upon the terms of the proposal we move forward into the construction stage of the building process.
Selection Meetings:
1. Lumberyard – Siding, roofing, interior railing, interior doors & trim, and interior hardware.
2. Garage Doors – Overhead Garage Doors.
3. Appliances – Choosing your interior appliances.
4. Plumbing – Plumbing fixtures, towel bars, and light fixtures.
5. Cabinets – Cabinet designs, door styles & wood species, and color/finish options.
6. Fireplace – Choosing your fireplace design if applicable.
7. Int. & Ext. Stone – Interior/exterior design options including fireplace.
8. Interior Design – Tile showers/backsplashes, countertops, and flooring.
